Gian

Pop star ninja?

We were playing with newspaper the other day.

Flush Master

So, during potty training, Gian really enjoyed flushing the toilet and would try to flush it for everyone when they were done. I'm not sure if she still feels the same enthusiasm, but it has become one of her official positions in the household. Whenever Sienna finishes her time on the toilet, we suddenly hear the yell for "Flush Master!"

Pooping

So it seems that Gian is pretty much potty trained now. After months of wiping up "spills" and rinsing out dirty pants, she seems to have gotten the hang of getting herself to the potty in time. So I guess we done buying diapers!

Jumping jumping

A little bit after Crayon Pop released "Bar Bar Bar" with its famous "Jumping Jumping", Gian has finally succeeding at getting both feet off the ground at the same time.

Gian at the bank

It's been far too long since we've posted images here. This is one of the cutest I have from the last couple of months.

Merry Christmas!

First birthday! ๋Œ.

Today was Gian's first birthday. In Korea, kids pick from a table of objects on a table to determine their future. The idea is that each object represents some aspect of life and the child's attraction to it indicates that the symbolized future will be the child's. Gian picked out (in order): money (rich), silk (long life), brush (scholarship), and the hammer (law). She threw away the stethoscope (doctor). (Actually, I think she first picked the ink tray (scholarship), but everyone decided they needed to turn the table first.

Fear of falling

I am just writing to record my observation that a few days ago Gian's walking seems to have transformed. She suddenly feels confident and strides across the room. In fact, she's walking everywhere nowadays. My theory is that she has lost her fear of falling. That is, I think she has finally convinced herself that she is able to control her falls and is thus no longer troubled by the nearly inevitable falls she takes. She's not fully competent, but she's on the road.

First tooth

This morning I discovered that Gian's first tooth (front, bottom) has broken through her gums. Fortunately, not in a painful way! Rather, I detected it when my thumbnail encountered a little friction as it was being chewed on.
