Introduction to International Development (DISS281)

  • "Potter is one of the best professors you will ever encounter in DIS. It's certainlky different from many other courses, but try taking one of his classes, including IID!" -- 3rd semester student
  • "In case you're taking not very many courses, IID would be wonderful in that you can get the knowledge you might get from 3-4 courses combined. If you like writing, this course is good." -- 7th semester
  • "Take it! It's a lot of work but it makes you actually think." -- 3rd semester

Planning for Uncertainty and Risk (IDC520)

Plight of the Poor (IDC518)

Not only the topics are very interesting but it is an eye-opener to understand that there is not only one possible way to generate development or reduce poverty and that not all the traditional approaches are good for everybody. Professor Potter encourages discussion and deeper analysis on the topics" --3rd semester
